The S27 is an experimental house for young people who want to change the world. Building, tinkering, spinning futures: we are interested in shifting familiar perspectives and repurposing materials. In our art+design workshops in Neukölln’s Ziegrastraße, young people from all over the world meet for creative and building activities and invite to experience surprising spatial figures and events: at the FALSCHER FISCH, their visions take on concrete form. Many of the young designers reached Berlin after fleeing from their countries, were on the road for years and had to improvise a lot.
For the Design Week, the group opens the performative “Rastplatz EINHUNDERT” (rest area one-hundred) with the installation “Autogrill” – a beautiful mess: the scrap heap of the nearby A100 construction site and neighbouring car workshops provide amazing materials for this, which intertwine recycling and waste theory with questions of social transformation.
