The exhibition \u201cDesign in Wartime\u201d presents nineteen projects by Ukrainian and Austrian students of architecture and design, addressing the spatial, social, and cultural challenges of living in times of war. At its core lies the question of how architecture and design can respond to threat, destruction, and uncertainty\u2014and what forms of protection, community, and hope they are capable of creating within the urban environment.<\/p>\n
The featured works reflect a search for new spatial strategies of survival and cohesion, ranging from temporary shelters to reinterpretations of urban infrastructures.<\/p>\n
As part of a thirty-year cooperation between TU Wien and Lviv Polytechnic National University, the exhibition positions itself as a sign of solidarity, professional exchange, and a shared belief in the social responsibility of architecture and design\u2014especially in times of war.<\/p>\n
The exhibition is the result of a long-standing and fruitful Austrian\u2013Ukrainian academic collaboration, supported by the OeAD Cooperation Office Lviv\/Lemberg and the Ukraine Office Austria within the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs.<\/p>\n
