Concrete Letters – concrete letter furniture is the work of designer Jan Irlenkäuser. The design concept is strongly influenced by brutalism and Bauhaus – architectural and design styles that stand for clear forms and an emphasis on construction.
The letters have their roots in graffiti. Jan Irlenkäuser initially conceived the furniture on the basis of a two-dimensionally designed font – readability was not a priority. The font itself was the result of Jan Irlenkäuser’s final work in communication design and illustrates his artistic influence through graffiti and an urban environment.

The furniture exists in the representations a to z. Three of them will be staged by Irlenkäuser during the DESIGN POOL and also offer smaller variants of his letter furniture.
