Heritage inspiration of decorative arts in architecture with… a twist of opart? The #opartdeco collection of graphic models and applied arts is inspired by the Art Deco and Bauhaus influences in the architecture of the first half of the XXth century and that of Bucharest in between the World Wars.
From Art Deco inspiration, bold graphics, pop art to graphic design and patterns that have their own dynamic. The models in the #opartdeco collection (TRI∆NGLED, Palma Deco, DADA model, Les Ondulés, MONDA Code, Ascent, Circled) are a modern take on the geometric graphic ironwork and plasterwork models from the Modernist and Art Deco Bucharest of the 1920’s-1945 period.

About the designer: Dragoș Dogaru is a product and applied arts designer, with his studio based in Bucharest – the city of his inspiration, being also the initiator of the #artdecobucharest project. Co-author and coordinator of the first architectural guides and albums documenting heritage and elements of architectural language on this topic, transposes this savoir-faire in his design works, exhibited at several editions of Paris Design Week and Romanian Design Week. Starting from lighting design and furniture to graphic design and applied arts, he relies on a consistent approach, in a playful geometric key, with surprising colors, textures and shapes.
