Every Year nearly 90 million tons of food are thrown away in Europe. And, in the same period, disposable crockery accounts for a further 26 million tons of garbage. So why not connect these two topics and see what could be created in this scenario?

Salzburg-based designer Barbara Gollackner has been working on this theme for the last few years and has been guided by experimentation, curiosity and collaborations with other creatives – the result is a collection of 6 tableware pieces, all made from different wasteware materials, produced using different techniques.

For example, bread scraps, vegetable trimmings, mushroom spores, or milk scraps were made into bowls, dishes, and serving platters. The individual parts were scooped, pressed into molds or even printed out with the 3d printer.

To show the coherence of the content, the 6 parts can be stacked to create a small sustainability sculpture.
