Weronika Wojnarowicz – product and service designer working on transforming companies to a circular economy, developing towards creating innovative solutions. She remains in academic structures as an assistant at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, Poland, in the utility process modeling studio. “Cork as a material for industrial designer” project was exhibited at many events like Material Matters in London, Gdynia Design Days and has been awarded several times, including Award of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.

The project was created to find new biomaterials. The main raw material in this project was cork dust and granules, as they are bio-waste. Cork is one of the most sustainable material in the world. Composites created with the support of scientists use various binders and can be used in many industries. As an example of the use of one of the composites is a hanger, because bilions of them (mainly plastic) are thrown away every year. The new utility process prevents clothes collars from stretching and the hanger from breaking.
