Brasil meets Berlin – An Art Show presented by Havaianas x Zalando

For Berlin Design Week 2026, Havaianas and Zalando invite Berlin-based artist Gabriel Massan to take over Hallesches Haus – opening a space between Berlin and Brasil. Known for building speculative environments where reality slips into fiction, Massan brings his singular vision to a new body of work that draws on the energy, complexity and memory of his Brasilian heritage.
Moving between digital and physical worlds, his work unfolds in layers: digital landscapes meet tactile materials, personal stories brush against collective memory. Brasil appears here less as a place and more as a presence – filtered, reshaped, and reimagined through Berlin.
Massan’s practice resists fixed narratives. His environments shift and breathe, pulling the viewer into states that feel simultaneously familiar and unresolved – caught between the speculative and the lived. What emerges is not a statement, but an exchange: between places, identities, and ways of seeing.
