Berlin Design Day kicks off Berlin Design Week 2026 – with talks, a panel and genuine exchange about design, architecture and creative practice.
An open event for everyone who thinks, makes and experiences design.

Design Day Short Bits (6 × 10 min) and Design Day Panel “State of Design — Politics, Research, Industry” (30 min, 4 panelists + moderation). The short-bit impulses cover economic development, research, digital & service design, strategic product design, communication design and further disciplines. The panel brings together voices from professional associations, design research, European design policy and design institutions.
Featuring: Julia Krüger (Senior Innovation Manager Creative & Media Industries, Berlin Partner), Max Marwede (Fraunhofer), Volker Schumann (WERKSDESIGN), Ale Rudolph (IDZ — International Design Center Berlin), Regina Hanke (BEDA — Bureau of European Design Associations), Nick Stübe (Berlin Design e.V.) and Alexandra Klatt (state of DESIGN GmbH, the driving force behind Berlin Design Week).
