VONDINGEN, in collaboration with designer Jakob Timpe, presents a selection of influential books on design, architecture and construction, explored in dialogue with the VONDINGEN collection. Whether rare or widely available, this curated selection of exceptional books demonstrates how they influence and shape the creation of individual products.
This ‘handapparat ’ or reference collection is presented in „Displays“ – those desktop organizers designed for viewing, collecting and presenting books and papers. The juxtaposition of the books with the Stand table, the Sims wall shelf, the Indirektor floor lamp and the 3 ½ library ladders makes the connection between reading and the project visible.
At the same time, it becomes clear how these products, in turn, are reflected in texts and can become specialist literature. This creates a circular, evolutionary process of creation and transformation; specialist literature appears here as fertile humus from which ideas and projects grow, only to become humus themselves one day.
