Since 2021, the Faculty of Design at GIU in Berlin has been dedicated to promoting intercultural exchange through hands-on teaching and immersive research methods. By welcoming students from predominantly the MENA region and Egypt, our tailored double degree and semester abroad programs provide a comprehensive exploration of Berlin’s cultural and urban landscape. This collaborative academic environment prioritizes openness, mutual understanding, and cultural learning. The showcased projects are a demonstration of these efforts.

„Shared Grounds“ presents selected projects, developed over the past two years, spanning graphic, product, and media design. These works explore key themes such as enhancing civic engagement and supporting community building through design, revitalizing public spaces and fostering inclusive dialogue—each project contributing to the broader goal of promoting intercultural exchange.
