Join MATTER of COURSE for drinks in the exhibition during Design Night.
As part of Berlin Design Week, the Berlin-based designer collective MATTER of COURSE is presenting an exhibition that approaches growth not as a linear progression towards maximisation and expansion, but as a multi-layered, natural and open-ended process. At KMB Berlin, the installation brings together perspectives that appreciate growth as a fluid condition situated between material, time and attitude.
The exhibition reflects the designers’ individual perspectives: growth arises from openness and exchange – as a movement into the unknown, it leads via processes of detachment, subtle shifts, detours or breaks, to new orientations and connections. It unfolds through the transformation of materials, in the translation of cultural techniques into contemporary objects, and in the question of how authorship manifests itself today.
Here, growth is not considered as an expansive goal, but as a continuous engagement, reflection and development – a state of organic prosperity that is reflected in the objects.
