Exhibition from April 17 – September 7, 2025
The exhibition at the Bröhan Museum is the first major retrospective of this movement, which was so important for the 20th century and brought together the most important designers of the 1970s and 80s in Italy, including Alessando Mendini, Ettore Sottsass, Andrea Branzi, Lappo Binazzi and others. If Bauhaus and German modernism were the milestone in the first half of the century, Alchimia is the major turning point in the second half of the century. The design revolution initiated by the Italian designers was the basis for a worldwide rethink in product design.
