The how and what of design always depends on the where: Places of design enable new ways of creating the world. One of these dynamic design locations is Hildesheim. The HAWK Faculty of Design is located on its lively Weinberg campus, in the workshops, laboratories and seminar rooms.
The book and exhibition ‘Design from Hildesheim’ presents projects, perspectives and positions and unfolds a multi-layered picture of Hildesheim design through dialogue-based campus discussions: creative, critical and forward-looking. They open up an inspiring journey through the topologies of a campus that radiates far beyond Hildesheim – into the past, present and mouldable futures.

Another exhibit is the book ‘In Search of Happiness’ by Master’s graduate Mirja Werner. It contains stories and experiences of people with a migration background in Germany. Almost 30 per cent of people in Germany have a migrant background – but their voices often go unheard or are reduced to negative clichés. In her book, Werner gives them space to tell their stories.
